Just heard on Sky News. Gutted. He will be missed. He is still the best player in the world when it comes to long balls and crosses etc. He can place the ball anywhere. If you needed that winning goal, bringing him and Crouch on would have been awesome. Such a shame!

...well that saves Fabio a decision I suppose and reduces Englands options as well.

Sorry to hear about the injury as David always wears his (England) heart on his sleeve.

Time to ride off into the sunset I suppose yes or the MLS as we call it in Europe.

He will be heartbroken.

Would have loved him to be in the squad. He gives 110% every time he puts on the shirt.

hehe

I can see Rooneys knee being fine till the beginning of june, then flairing up again because he has played on it too much without rest.

I'm gutted for him, his passion for England isn't matched by any of the current crop and even if he was only playing a bit part at the world cup you know he'd be giving it his all.

This. One of the reasons he went to Milan was to work hard and get himself into the World Cup squad, so he will be very down.

A sad way for his intl career to end, but I think it might turn out to be a positive for England, if someone can do a Rooney and step up to the plate (as he has done at MU since Ronaldo left), and become a great England creative right sided player.

There are a few candidates, who's got the temprament?

I'd play Ashley young on the right wing, Joe cole on the left. With Gerrard, Carrick and Lamps in the middle.

Terry, Lescott and Ferdinand at the back.

Rooney and Crouch up front.

Joe hart in goal maybe.

Is that so any team with a half decent winger can get a million crosses in every game against us? Have you seen Lescott this season, not worth 2.4 mil let alone 24mil

Too much space at the back with that line up.

I say

Seaman
G Neville Adams Campbell Pearce
Mcmanaman Gascoigne Redknapp S Stone
Shearer Sherringham

hehe Bring back the old school.

If Lennon can get a few games in - then he'd be my fave for the RW.

I wouldnt mind seeing:

Joe Hart.
Glen Johnson, John Terry, Michael Dawson/Matthew Upson, Stephen Warnock.
Theo Walcott, James Milner, Gareth Barry, Stewart Downing.
Wayne Rooney, Jermaine Defoe/Peter Crouch.

Might make a bit of a change, Gerrard is out of form, Lampard has been, Ferdinand is a knackered old dog, Lescott is ste since joining city, cant think of anyone for RB other than Johnson who is ste at defending.
Feel free to rip my team to bits, i wouldnt expect anything else.

Don't like Warnock. How about Nicky Shorey at LB?

I'd always play lampard.

Micah Richards?

Suppose at the moment i would play lamps over gerrard(quite sad being a liverpool fan).
Is Richards playing better, he has been shocking sometimes.

Never thought about him. Might be about time we saw some new boys out there, this same team(roughly) has failed time and time again.
