Grabbed an old evo from the shelf on my way to the bog this morning and re-read an article whilst on the throne about a really lovely looking piece of kit called the Zolfe Orange.

A british built sportscar with spaceframe chassis, grp body, front engine (2.3 duratec), rear drive, drivetrain components from the latest mx5.

Anyone got any experience of them? Their website isn't particularly helpful...

I'll drag this up because I read about the Zolfe GTC4 in the 'August 2011' issue of Evo magazine and was impressed. IMO it's very good looking and the specification is notable including the 750kg weight even with air conditioning. The performance and handling appears to be excellent according to the magazine apart from fine tuning. There are plans for a kit form option which wouldn't include the drivetrain and would be £6500 less than the normal price too.
For the 2.3 litre version it will be £36,945 and the entry level car will be £33,950.

'Pace' is 'gob-smacking' and 'pretty much all the basics are nailed'.

Sounds good to me.

Thought I'd drag this up from the mists of time!

The Zolfe is in this week's Autocar. From what I can see doing a search on PH, it was first mentioned back in 2007. Car looks the same now as it did back then, I'm just wondering whether it has developed in the last 5 years?

I believe Jez Coates (ex Caterham?) is on board with this project. Was he one of the original founders?

It looks like a great car though. Prefer it to the rather "lozenge" shaped Ginetta G40.

I like how this is the second time this thread has been revived from the dead.
