I read that Lord Falconer (the so-called "Constitution Secretary ) is suggesting that, "Nothing must be ruled out in the fight against terror."

Shooting dead on suspicion maybe?

And since motorists have been branded as terrorists ...

PS - don't laugh! This governemt is seeking to use the threat of "terrorism" to remove most - if not all - of our diminishing liberties - S

What fing terror? Since the good friday agreement it's been reassuringly quiet. I firmly believe that if we'd stop invading Islamic countries it would tend to stay that way too.

He's actually trying to change the burden of proof down to 'balance of probability', for terrorist trials, instead of 'beyond all reasonable doubt'. On that basis I 'probably' think that he should be incarcerated in one of his overcrowded jails.

The man is dangerous.

Don't forget trial behind closed doors with judges not jury making the call and indefinite intermint without trial

Interesting nearly all the powers being rushed in now are exactly the same as those passed in Germany in the late 30s to allow one A.Hitler to remove democracy from the german people.

Democracy, don't make me laugh! I am 39 and I would like to excercise my right to vote on Europe.. but the last vote was in 1972, when I was 7!!

Blair will do anything to remove freedom and maintain his dictatorship... roll on the revolution!

brand me a criminal and I might as well behave like one!

yeh, i agree here, im suprised he has not banned the internet, its amazing how much you can learn about the truth of how this country is run by using the internet. i dont know if anybody knows but there is evidence our fuhrer is covering up for two out and out phedophiles in his government (one in or close to cabinet hence cover up), this evidence has been shelved from public view for 100 years under a secracy act passed a few years back

No no no, you've got it all wrong, he won't ban it just monitor your on-line time and tax it, or even issue a fixed penalty for accessing certain info - could be a real revenue raiser.......

How can anybody explain that 'the fight to protect our freedoms' (G W Bush), means giving up those freedoms?

Don't worry about proof, just tell us anyway. I dislike them all, I am fairly sure that people in government occasionally tell lies. LOL.

That's XXXXXXXXXXX's site. He's an utter, utter loon. I wouldn't trust him to tell me which way is up.

And he accuses anyone who criticises him of being a paedophile. I expect he'll be along in a minute.

How long before the technique of "doublethink" is taught in schools? Most of the front bench are already experts.

I don't want to be protected from some looney islamic fundamentalist anthrax carrying, plane flying, suicide bomber.
I want my property and my possesions and my family to be protected from the very real and local threats of burgalry, muggings, car jacking's, and other 'unimportnant, don't wast police time' activities of the minority thug culture that seems to perpetuate itself around the country.
Sod spending millions of pounds protecting bloody Bush when he visits every blue moon just in case AF1 gets blown out of sky, how about protecting the vunerable parts of our population from those willing to take advantage. How about opening up police stations again, with proper operators on the phone for advice and help rather than automated messages. This Nanny state is raging out of control and its using our protection as the excuse to remove our civil liberties.

I don't. Most of these fundamentalist regimes that seem to sponsor terrorism rely on having a "Great Satan" that they can use to maintain their control over the population. As long as they can look with envy at someone else then terrorism will continue.
