I'm thinking of getting a screw on one to add some more power to my 75-300mm lens. Is it worth doing? If so how much would a reasonable one cost for a 58mm screw? There's quite a variation out there.

I've never seen a screw-on teleconverter. +2 close-up yes, but converters usually go between lens and camera don't they?

any screw on messes up with the image. never use them, unless just for fun.

Loads out there - just google 2x converter 58mm

So a screw on is out, in favour of one that goes on before the lens - right?

So there are! Now that I think about it I have seen them, but I'd only ever thought of them in the context of add-on lenses for compact cameras and the like. Must engage brain before posting smile
