I'm looking to boost the elise s2 stereo with a compact powered subwoofer, has anyone done this?

if so, did you mount it on the rear parcel shelf or under the passenger footwell

I've purchased this:

would love to know about any problems encountered with mounting and hiding the wiring, pics would be great to

Didn't install it myself but I have one in the passenger footwell connected to the standard Alpine ICE. It works brilliantly considering the Elise/Exige is hardly the ideal listening zone.

Curious thing though is the Alpine Subwoofer menu option needs to be turned off for it to be on????

Can't say I'm particularly bothered as long as it works.

have fitted a Pioneer sub behind the passenger seat, fixed with heavy duty velcro, easy enough, but it was an older model (round type). There is room there, good for cable runs, won't get kicked/full of grit or wet etc. just check the size of your sub. Sound not really an issue as you cannot easily locate sub frequencies, so it does not sound as if all the noise is comming from behind you, really makes a difference, pax seat does resonate a bit with high volume, but hey, you ain't sat in it, cos it is the 'worst seat in the house'!!!!

I've put an Alpine active sub in the pax footwell. Sits behind the pax footrest and works well. Cable runs ok, had to drill small hole in the bulkhead to take a direct power supply from battery and take some of the side units to the sash off to run the cables but easy enough to do. Plays from an ipod mounted under the dash and controlled through the head unit with an Alpine 9886 head unit. Got bluetooth as well although never tried using it.

dam, I was hoping that pioneer sub I bought would do the job, I'm not looking for brilliant accoustics, just a bit depth. How do you stop tall passengers not putting their feet through the speaker

i put a grill over it, that was abit of an older pic, and the amp you can hide it behind the passengers seat. reason why i did it is cos i had loads of bass in my odl car couldnt go down to nothing,. trust me tho the under seat ones are bad

sub and amp bought from here

http://www.online-caraudio.co.uk/shop/subwoofers/p...

just make a small box and get a grill

Cant remember which unit i put in, but make a big difference. Do make sure you restrain it properly. Not sure velcro would do much in an accident...

If you've got a socket set it's no problem for 3 of them, Just use an extension bar with the appropriate allen bit. For the n/s front nut, access is usually restricted by the seat construction (it was this weekend on my S2) and for this you may need the right sized allen key. but with those simple tools it really is a 5 minute job.

its a pig to get the seat out. but yes the four bolts with extension bar, and aswell you can use this as one of your grounding wires for the sub.
