Peak District Charity Run - Serpentine Run 2010
Discussion
The 5th Annual
Serpentine Charity Run
Presented by the
Cheshire Lotus Owners Group
Sunday the 4th July 2010
Open to all types of classic cars, sports cars and classic motorbikes the event will start from 9am at the historic Buxton Pavilion Gardens and involve a route though the Peak District National Park and some of the UK’s most beautiful scenery.
Entrants will be given their route maps at the registration point and from where they will also be started at regular intervals. The start point at the Pavilion Gardens allows for the use of the cafeteria and facilities however there will be refreshments (free tea and coffee, bacon sandwiches at a small cost etc…) available at our first scenic 'pit stop'
The journey will be approximately 100miles and will involve several stops at places of interest as well as stops for refreshments, pub lunch, picnic etc and will culminate in a display of all the cars at the finish line in one of the Peak Districts historic locations (it’s a secret until you get there) around mid afternoon.
This is not a race and the planned journey time though the Peak District is to be around 4 hours to allow you to enjoy the scenery, stop for lunch or a picnic as well as enjoy your driving experience.
There will be an entry fee of £10, which should enable a substantial donation to the chosen local charities to benefit.
Please see the reverse for the entry form or Tel:- 01298 25590 to request additional copies or further information

its a great day out and yes you can just turn up on the day but we need to know for a catering point of view....the last thing we want to do it run out of bacon butties and tea/coffee......
bill
the whole £10 goes to charity........
I use the company printer to print the route maps out.....the father inlaw who is retired enjoys doing the route as it means he can find pubs he's never heard of in the middle of nowhere...
and we have a couple of local business' who donate the tea/coffee/bacon
this years charities are the neonatal units from stockport and salford 'hope' hospitals
hope this helps
cheers
Gareth

I don't think i will now be able to come on the run as the oil filler and breather has decided to come apart on me spewing oil all over the engine bay. This is vital as it takes a lot of pressure creating a vacuum in the crankcase. The internal breather has been cut out in exchange for what we call a fufu valve (external breather). It is not a Massive task but i need to get another part and cut it down and seal it up which will probably not be done for the weekend. Pretty disappointed as it sounds like a really fun day out.
If I can get it done for sunday i will come, but otherwise i'm out i'm afraid.
