My advise would be to let them past first, then play, especially BMW's due to their popularity with the Plod of the incognito variety. Once passed, check for second mirror on near-side wing mirror, high-vis jackets or strange lights mounted in the rear window. If all checks out ok, then blow them away

In my experience it's best to let them past, follow from a safe distance, and watch them slide into a ditch when you don't get any smaller in their mirrors and they try too hard, because they can't believe they don't have the fastest car on the planet

M5 is a serious bit of kit, especially on the upchange with every option set to attack. In anything but B roads or in a <1unit acceleration test they will happily keep up with a Noble over a series of miles in the "same" hands IMHO.

My Noble is no longer standard, I think he thought it would keep up and tried hard

i reckon he must have had it at the dealers the next day to see if it was down on power.

They are a nice car, but not my cup of tea. I would probably go for a RS6 or

Have you driven one?

Whilst I wouldn't buy one, I had Ecurie's for a weekend and came away very very impressed, especially around my favourite Dorset back roads. Stick to the road like the preverbial sticky stuff meaning the power dissadvantage is less as it's more about what you can carry through the corners than outright being able to accelerate, given there is a corner every 100 yards or so in Dorset.

Add into that the way the engine delivers that power and you have a very serious bit of kit IMHO.

i had a similar situation this weekend with a 360 Fezza. i kept up but at top end silly speed he was starting to pull away. I think its fair to say that in terms of cost vs performance, the nob came out on top. the guy showed full respect afterwards !
