Very, very sad news yesterday morning about the loss of one of our great off-road drivers at an AWDC competitive Safari held at North Tidworth near Sailsbury last Saturday, as a result of his injuries Ray died yesterday morning at 11am.
Ray had been competing in off-road trials for years and moved on to safaris a good few years ago, a very skillfull driver, both home and abroad.
I am sure all who knew Ray will join me and send our condolences to his family at this very sad time.

Tragic !
When not competing he would marshal ... a great ambassador of offroad motorsport.
Hit a tree on the 2nd stage doing Scottish Hillrally one year, and ripped the axle bracket off the chassis.. Ray and his team let us use his welder and tools so we could change the C spanner and re-weld the bracket back on... all in the 30 min service time.
A good decent gentleman.
