Looking for a little reassurance from all you guys as my husband has just bought his second Cerb, which would be fine, except we still own the first one!

So now, we have 2 Cerbs in the drive, and I have more bits in my kitchen (in fact - I might as well rename it the garage) and an even more obsessed four year old boy...and 41 year old boy too!

The Spousal Unit put her foot down and all parts from our three TVRs are not allowed in the living parts of the house.

But I found that she has to shop for groceries etc. and she has to sleep and that is when I rub car parts on her chair etc.

oh well, at least I'm not alone!

Do you think I might actually get to drive this one? The other one I've only ever been "allowed" to drive to the garage for repair (so quite a lot then lol) and on one emergency trip to the NIA (when I thought I might have to abandon it in the multistorey!)

I was worried about this area also. Kitchen's are usually regularly hot and steamy, not the best atmosphere for keeping car parts.

Hi

My wife shares me with four TVR's and she even cleaning some bits in the Kitchen as I type.

She keeps on about getting her one, as she is now partly disabled she can't drive the cerbie any more!

O! well will have to keep my eyes open for a auto TVR.

When my current Mrs first moved in nearly 12 years ago, I was in the process of restoring sixteen Simpson Schwalbe scooters, and pretty much every room of the house was occupied with bikes and bits of bikes in various states of assembly.

In our current house, the front door opens into our bedroom (large open-plan arrangement), which means that bulky or heavy car related stuff often ends up stacked up beside the bed - e.g. when all three cars needed tyres simultaniously, our bedroom looked like a branch of Kwikfit and smelt of fresh rubber (not necessarily in a good way!) for about a fortnight.

The kitchen is my domain, so I reserve the right to bring car parts in when necessary, but she did get a bit narky when I was degreasing suspension wishbones and hubs in the bath. I'm not allowed to use the dishwasher for parts scrubbing eitherfrown

This is a wife free zone - please can you go and leave us this little bit of freedom to discuss our cars, our expenditure etc without wives looking in ?! ;-)

Since there weren't enough clutches and spare transmission parts in our area to teach the Spousal Unit to drive a stick I had to put an automatic in her V8 Taimar and it was a very smart move. I never hear a peep about how much time and money I am putting into our 3 TVRs as she is still part of it.

Tcha! rolleyes

Perhaps you could introduce him to simple physics?

Perhaps a modern day version of Boyles Law?

For a relationship to be kept at a fixed temperature, P [pressure] and V [volume] are inversely proportional (while one increases, the other decreases)

Or perhaps Newton's Law?

Whenever a first body exerts a force F on a second body, the second body exerts a force −F on the first body. F and −F are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction.

Therefore:

Any expensive TVR or motorbike related expense has to be balanced by an equal or oposite reaction.... e.g Mulberry, Jimmy Choo, etc

I've always found that small sacrifices made in the fashion purchase department helps to maintain much larger financial sacrifices (sorry, investments) in boy's toy's.........

that's a shame because a cupfull of cuscus in the dishwasher makes an ideal bead blaster. You have to turn the water off though.

My wife has had 6 (yes 6) new Mulberrys (4 handbags and 2 purses) so far this year (plus shoes, dresses, coats etc etc). So my TVR running costs seem quite good value in comparison.
