2001 BMW 320d not starting

Hi im having problems with my car for the last few days when the engine is cold it has been taking 6 or so seconds of cranking to start the engine.

this morning i went to start it and there was nothing no clicks or cranking just silent i checked battery and had nearly 13 volts in it.

i have been having problems with my key as in some times it opens and locks it but most of the time i have to use key in the lock.

could this be linked

if any one has any advice i really would appreciate it.

See what happens from a jump start, maybe the battery can't produce enough power under load? Does the ignition come on, radio, heater fans work etc?

Do you have a spare key ? Maybe a faulty key has stopped charging or can't unlock the ECU

yer i got lights radio etc i dont think its battery problem,
i tried to start it earlier and it fired up first time which was strange , any ideas
i have only one key, and most of the time it wont open or lock the car using the button
