I bought a brand new fitted fridge freezer less than 8 months ago. It's broken down and ruined about £100 worth of food. Obviously as it's under guarantee they have to come out and fix it, but they have refused to provide any sort of compensation for the grub.

Is it worth pursuing this - are they under any sort of obligation, or should i just chalk it up?

Your home contents insurance, if you have it, may cover for freezer items. I'm not sure about freezer warrenties, I get you need to read the small print.

Your house contents insurance would cover the cost of the food if you have included freezer contents, but if there is an excess claiming may not be worthwhile.

Check the terms of the freezer guarantee to ensure it does exclude the food.
