Short new mtb course near Whitefield/Prestwich (Manchester)
Discussion
About 2.5km long when its finished. Not exactly Red grade, but fun all the same, and there are loads of existing technical challenges in that area, so it should be fantastic once finished.

There are loads of decent cycling tracks around there. If anyone wants a guided tour one day, let me know, I go up there all the time.

I'll almost certainly be down there this weekend. This is the short version of the route I usually take:

...but on the weekend I'll go south as far as Agecroft Road, before turning back and playing around in Philips Park, crossing the motorway, and faffing around near Copper Lane. There is a lot of climbing...

P.O.D. - Thanks for showing me around the trails on Saturday mate.
Had a great time and what fantastic trails just North of Manchester. I'm amazed they're not more popular as they're so much more interesting than the trans-Pennine trail yet it took me under 20mins to get there from South Manchester!
Highly recommended.

There are loads more I didn't take you around mate There's a fantastic bit of trail leading from Glenmere Close at J17 down to Philips Park, here
There's also a rather neat fast windy track here
Basically the area is littered with stuff like this. There's loads of technical stuff in here
You can easily spend 4 hours messing around

Hi Parrot,
Have not been down there for quite a while until today, then I have seen this when I get back.
Ususally go through the clough then onto the arches and over the M60 upto Radcliffe and back. Passed the little downhill you have photo's which was quite enjoyable, just need to get exploring now.
Not sure if I passed you this morning as I was heading back towards the arches from radcliffe, the bike in the picture looks similar.
Will have to explore a bit further from some of the links you have given above.
