Cycling in Malta - anyone been

So, I'm getting sent out to Malta for 8 weeks for work. Going to be working at the Uni and staying in St Julians/Msida.
Has anyone been? I dont know whether to take my road bike, Orange crush or Commencal Meta 6!
Dont think I can take 2or3, so really just has to be one that I will get the most use out of, fun out of. Im doing the Mega in July so want to be fit
