Anyone been? Experiences?

They are interesting, and have alot of show 'specials', ofcourse how special the specials are is questionable!
Its a good way to see lots of new technology and asses if it would work for you, dont forget, most the stats they show you could be coloured in their favour
Personly i would never buy at these places as it is usualy an impulse purchase, something you shouldnt be doing when building a new house, unless you have a HUGE budget!!
So in short, goto the show (usualy free tickets going about) get excited about all the new tech you could put in your build, pick up carrier bags of leaflets, go home, let reality hit, throw them in the bin and carry on as you were

Lot's of cool stuff to look at then.
Been twice before.
Well worth the price of the ticket (free!) ALthough I think the NEC charge the statutory £8 to park for this event.

It must be the fastest growing show of it's type. From the stand manning point of view, it tends to be people with money to spend on Thursday and Friday, day dreamers Saturday and Sunday, although there are money spenders there at the weekend too.
As has been said, there is lots to look at for inspiration, but in some ways you should leave your cheque book at home. Take the brochure, talk to the people on the stand, go home and think about it. Then buy if you really want it. There's a lot of the same stuff branded in different ways, but some innovative stuff too.
One big tip, make sure you go all the way around the edge to see the small displayers. It costs a lot of money to have a stand, and some companies/one man bands have terrific stuff but not a lot of money to spare, so you could miss some really interesting bits because their stand is hidden by the big guys'.

Have been to a couple of Screwfix trade counters in the last few weeks.... they have had tickets on their counters. May be worth popping into one if you have one locally?Anyone go to this.....? We went and found it a bit diappointing tbh. Not that big, lots of similar exhibiotrs, but not a great range of exhibitors. Very little for interiors, kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms, not a great deal of innovative stuff, (although i did think the built in vacuum system that empties the dirt itself down the drains was a clever idea). Very little in the way of show offers on from what we saw, and yet if there had have been, I am not sure there was much I'd be to interested in!

Depends what you're after - it's not a design and interiors show, it's about building a house. If you want kitchens, bathrooms and interiors you want Ideal Home or the Grand Designs show. There's also the home automation show which sits on the back of one of the homebuilding shows, but that's rather variable as a lot of the companies seem to pick and choose where the exhibit.Anyone else??

Then we were trying to work out how we were going to build.
Then we were finding people to supply the things we had chosen.
Last time I went it was to say hello to a couple of people and see if there was anything interesting to finish off some of the details of our house.

) It met my expectations, perhaps not as big as i'd anticipated, but it certainly had all the requirements for building a house.
I've been to the Ideal Home a few times, and get fed up with the vast amount of 'tat'. This show was pretty good, all the suppliers understand you're doing building work and aren't going to rush into anything, so the sales push is virtually non-existent, just how I like it, just plenty of informative people willing to explain their product.
Pretty certain we'll be having an oak framed extension/garden room, and there were a few suppliers there who we have details of, so a success.
Lots of folding door people though!
