LS Upgrade - Help
Discussion
Hi Everyone, I am looking at the options of replacing my old SBC engine with a later LS. I have spotted this engine for sale :
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1438759.htm does anyone know anything about it and what would it be worth. What parts would I need to change i.e. headers, engine mounts? gearbox adaptor? All advice appreciated. Thanks Tony

It has plenty of trick bits and lots has been spent so could be a great starting point for a very wild N/A engine.
Kinsler might be a bit more challenging to tune for the street though.
Alternatively, a brand new factory LS3 480 at similar cost, with some good headers, intake care and mild tweek will give almost the same HP figures, plus 25mpg when tootling along!
Depends which way you want to throw yer money!
You would need to budget similar installation costs for either engine option. Id think 5.5-6.5k should get the adapter, clutch, mountings, full exhaust, air,oil and fuel system sorted.
