How easy and how cheaply can I set up a limited company

Need a change and am toying with the idea of contracting....not IT. It'll be overseas mainly, if not all and I'd need an accountant.
I have done this with an umbrella company before, is this still an option?

Setting up a ltd company is incredibly easy. Whether or not this is the best thing to do, I don't know.

Setting it up can be done in a day and costs around £30.

Find out which country and normal practice, Switzerland for example will only do swiss umbrellas (via agency) or Swiss companies.

UK wise, some accountants will set up the company for free if you stay with them for 12 months.

I will become a Ltd Co tomorrow fingers crossed. The accountant I intend to use on an ongoing basis is doing the formation for £30.

If they are paying you from the Netherlands then I don't believe they'll pay your Ltd Company. The chain rule here in the Netherlands means that no company will do anything other than treat you as a temporary employee, and to get round some other issues the pay will be net of Dutch tax via a payroll company. I can happily write chapter and bloody verse on this subject if this is the case.

If you're getting paid from China then I have no idea what the rules are.
