Been looking really hard for a car lately always wanted a 3 series its what i look at first but being realistic i aint gonna get a bmw3 that i want for my budget £1500-£2000 ilooked at ford pumas just something with a bit of smile on the face driving but there becoming few and far between for decent at least. so back to trolling through general cars when up pops this

2000 BMW 3 SERIES 318i SE 4dr Saloon

4 Door Saloon, Black, Petrol, Manual, 110000miles, Remote central locking, Front fog lights, Front armrest, Service indicator, ABS, Alarm. £1,800 No time wasters.

Great pictures in all looks great shiny with lovely bmw alloy wheels. Couldnt believe my luck so calls the guy up askig about MOT(6months) tax(1month) service history arrrrgh theres none never had it when he got it tells me it behaved badly in the snow when his wife and kid were driving so she wanted another car she just didnt like it

It gets round to the subject of money he says i aint taking less than 1800 ive had to put 4 new alloys on because the wife broke one on a pot hole i mentioned the cheap price was making me feel dubious he assures me its ok. i aint a bad judge of character and im kinda given this guy the benefit of the doubt ill meet him on saturday when i go to see the car and make my mind up about him then i was wondering if someone is able to check service histor for this car i have the registration its X267OSO would much appreciate some help with this

thanks

what you can do is to go to BMW's website and call the number for customer services. They will be able to tell you if and when it was serviced by a main dealer at least. No one is going to be able to trace the other history (if it has any....). I don't know how much cheaper this car is than a car WITH service history but it would have to be very cheap indeed for me. I would probably not bother with this car personally.

And a new set of wheels might be all thats worthwhile on this one. There are many others out there it must be worth continuing the search.
