Finally rode the G-Spot for the first time on Sunday at PORC.

Although too big for me (I'll keep a look out for a small) it's still a very capable bike. It's not the new G-Spot but one of the original bottom bracket pivot ones.

Very strange feeling with the rear suspension though. It felt like the wheel was really digging into the ground, in a good way. Certainly very different to the (excellent) Hustler - although there's only an extra 10mm of travel. The G-Spot rides just like the Stiffee. This is no great supprise though, as they share almost identical geo and the Hustler shares that of the Handjob & Hummer which are [North Shore] XC bikes.

Looking forward to our uplift day on Good Friday at CwmCarn where I'll finally do the road drop, maybe, well the sun was low and conditions weren't right etc....

As for the coming Summer. I think I have the right two bikes for three months in Morzine - the Hustler and the G-Spot.

PORC? Well, there's definately potential there for a very, very good mini DH / skills centre. Resources seem to be the main problem but they are heading in the right direction. Rogate is better and Leith Hill and Holmbury offer more 'riding' (ie no pushing up) but I'll happily go back to PORC.

Sounds like a good ride, I've never tried one but I know a man who swears by them.

I've decided to get the new one when they're availble, not that Cove helps. As ever, their website is tip-top ha ha, they're still showing the CGI version on it's mini site and the 7" pre-production version on the main site.

Don't fear the road drop, it's all just a optical illusion, you can (but I wouldn't recomend it again), just about roll off it. I did once, slid over the edge on my bash. Just don't panic brake on the landing and straight-line into the fence......... like I did silly

so true, i remember after the first time i did it i realised it was nothing to worry about...

what's much more yikes is clearing the downslope after the bridge at the end in the late afternoon when suddenly a valley breeze has sprung up which wasn't there 10 minutes earlier hehe

You're not wrong! That sudden feeling of the bike moving underneath you as glide less than gracefully through the air will cure any case of constipation! It was that very moment I realised what the wind sock was for.

I flew of that once far quicker than I intended and just slammed the landing, legs couldn't keep up and heard this BRRRRRRRR noise as my arse got attacked by the rear tyre, ha ha tore a hole in my new Pinners, thank god for undershorts! Same thing happed to my riding buddy once in the Alps, but he got trapped between the tyre and the bottom of the seat, ha ha He didn't crash, but he wore a thousand yard stare for a couple of hours
