I've been in my new old house for a week now. The house was very dirty and I have given it a thorough clean but I can't seem to get rid of the dust - it's everywhere! Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do?

Use a hoover?

maybe a cleaning lady?

Seriously though, I know what you are going through, the renovation on my bathroom, even in a sealed room (covers nailed to old door frame) and yet the whole fking flat is covered in a fine layer of dust from the work carried out...

OH has spent the best part of 5 hours cleaning just the bedroom and the lounge just to get it dust free...

Rooms were cleaned one by one. Everything washed. Curtains, walls, carpets. I can now assume it's from outside an comes in when the windows are open.

paint it, wash the curtains and clean the carpets. I have always done this but then i have so far had the time and resorces. Keeping doors closed helps, and the house might be very "dry" so a few showers and cups of tea will eventually sort that out.
