Paypal limitations - how long to resolve?

Paypal, in their wiseness, have decided to completely balls up a lot of my plans. I had a fair amount (only 3 figures) of money go into my account last week, nothing ridiculous - and I have a number of things on ebay that need paying for, plus some of the money was bookmarked to go to a family member (I PRESUMED paypal would be an easy way of doing this).I've had my paypal account for years.

So they suddenly go and stick this retarded limitation on it - so now all my money is in paypals bank account, not mine. Conveniently I'm allowed to put money in, but not remove it.

I've followed all the steps to 'resolve' this, but its still not fixed. How long does it take for them to 'ok' the account?

I now have a number of overdue payments for items I've bought. Really pissed off.

The did this to mine after someone somehow manged to use it to buy about a 100 pair of GHD straightners from ebay in my name.

They sorted it out but left my limitations in place.

It took a while to get it freed up - they wanted a liandline telephone number (which i don't have), proof of bank details etc etc.

A couple of weeks i think i ended up waiting to get it all sorted.

Literally as long as Paypal want to. They think they are bigger than god.

At least with your bank you can walk into a branch and shout at someone when you have to....

Total shower of st who have cost me money at the hands of blatent scamsters through their 'claims proceedures'...

Same here, a number of different PayPal accounts limited in the past. It really doesn't take much - some funds paid in/initiating a transfer to your bank account.

Posted me a letter thingy containing code number to confirm my address (no landline). This used to take ages to arrive as they posted it from the USA in the past using cheapest mail option. Seems to arrive quicker now.

My last limitation was end of last year (made too many low priced eBay purchases too fast it seems) - once all steps were completed by me, they reviewed it in under 5 hours time! Full access restored on the same day, so i was pleasantly surprised.

It happened to me as well.

They blame 'money laundering regs' but I think it's a cover for something else.

Luckily Paypal is (or was) covered by the FSA and eventually I got my £600 released. But not before I got into an infuriating circular phone call with a Paypal bloke from Ireland who kept dodging the point.
