Guys,

I am endeavoring to get my local TVR specialist(?) to put a complete new roof on my 350se, new rear section and vinyl window plus the targa panel recovered. After more than 5 weeks in the garage I have only just received the quote - wait for it..... £800+vat eek

I am going to ring around to get alternative quotes as I feel this is particularly steep, I was anticipating circa £500-£600 all in maybe. Can anyone recommend any good places to get the roof replaced, ideally in East Anglia (Suffolk would be even better)?

I have obtained one phone quote from Tim Wallace Trimming of Maldon, Essex for around £500 all in which doesn't seem too bad at all, but thought it worth asking on the forum,

Cheers,

Keith

hello keith
£800 for a new hood eek seems a bit much, on the "parts section" Adam Quantrall has one for sale (if iam reading it correctly, it maybe worth while emailing him and asking)

I have to do something with mine 400SE now i have split the plastic in the cold weather whilst folding it downfrown
I was thinking about just changing the plastic, don't know how hard that maybe.

Sorry to hear you broke the window, but at least you can tell people it's because you put it down in the cold! A real TVR driver!

matt, did i also tell you i eat broken glass for fun and watch what i like to watch on the tv.

Obviously i dont eat glass that would be silly, so don't do it kids.

As for watching tv i can never find the remote that turns the tv on.

Still, i can be a man and enjoy driving with out the roof what ever the weather (is it ok to the same in the dark ?)scratchchin

I was down at dwgriffith's place last year picking up my SE wheels and he showed me a VERY tidy roof that he'd removed from his written-off 350i... it had the earlier-style window with rounded corners but looked eminently useable, might be worth an email to see if he'll part with it (if he still has it).
