I asked in a Volvo garage if I upgraded my winter pack to winter pack active HID bending headlights if they can be switched to LHD? He told me there was a lever on each headlight under the bonnet.

I asked if this was the same on the normal headlight, but I was told the normal headlights need to be removed to position the lever into the LHD setting. Seems a bit extreme, does anyone know how to alter the headlights to the LHD position on either type?

Sometime I find it hard to belive some sales reps!

The headlights come out in 1 minute and the adjustment in total takes 5 mins max for both sides if you know what you are looking for. The lever is inside the cover - dont forget to set it back again when your done and note down which side the lever was on before you start so you dont get confused and have it the wrong way around.

Thanks for your advice.

I might go for the winter pack with the Xenon's. Not sure as it is a company & I have to pay for the extras. £925 on the V50 R design. Ouch!!

I've never had Xenon's, are they worth the extra £550 pound over the standard Winter Pack?

It's exactly as paul72 says, a piece of pee to swap over RHD to LHD. I swap them over as I'm waiting in the queue to board the ferry, 5 mins a side is being generous. All the lever does is remove that triangle of light which illuminates up the kerb on UK setting and turns it into a flat Continental cutoff.

It's difficult to say whether the HID are worth it. I think you can only have the Active ones these day and I decided not. Had heard that the active bendy bit wasn't that reliable. I don't see (pun) the 230% improvement that Volvo claim on dip but they are brighter. The standard main beam is pretty good if you get them aligned correctly.

Thanks for that, I think I’ll save the £550 & just cough up for the standard winter pack.

I can't live without those leather seat centres being heated. I've had leather in the past & boy is nice to have them heated when it's cold.
