Tiger Cat, Super Cat and Cat XL - New Owners
Discussion
Southways Automotive Ltd (Myself & Steve_D) have just purchased the manufacturing rights and all the tooling from Tiger Racing for the Cat E1, Super Cat and Cat XL.
We will be offering 2 models. The SSC Super Cat and SSC Super Cat XL. The cars will be sold through Southways Sports Cars.
The Supercat has the revised nose cone and arches large enough to take 15x7 wheels.
The Supercat XL has an extra 3" across the seating area to allow for the lager driver!
We have all the tooling and moulds to continue supporting the E1 and other versions of the cars.
At the moment we are building our first demonstrator ready for the Stoneleigh Show.

Might be worth you giving a quick run down of the model differences, and what the different names actually mean. I'm sure there will be alot of interest from the regulars here.

The Cat E1 was originally launched in about 1997. About 800 kits have been sold over the years. Since then the nose has been redesigned, more like the original Super Six. This is now common on all models.
The front and rear wheel arches were widened to accept a 15x7" wheel. This was called the Super Cat.
Then an extra wide car was also launched as the Cat XL with about 3" extra across the hip area.
We will be selling two models. The Super Cat and the Super Cat XL. Both identical accept the extra width. As said though, we have all the tooling and moulds to still support all the different models.

Does this mean that tiger racing are struggling or they have decided to move onto other models?
Tiger are developing their top model for submission to full European type approval so have some work on their hands. The Cat range was sold to cut down the model range and make space in the workshop.Steve

Trailing arms?
Perhaps I'm using the wrong description, I thought that was what the Sierra rear suspension was called. Anyway, now I know which model it is, I had one in the workshop last year. I knew it was a Tiger but not which model, I believe there are several different ones.singlecoil said:
