I know there's been a couple of these threads lately but the chap in the shop said I can transfer my saved games and profile by using the 256mgb memory card. I've been looking on youtube for tutorials but they seem to only be with the transfer cable & disc.

Also it said on one of them that you only get 1 chance every 12 months so if I fk this up I'll not be happy.

Has anyone here swapped all their saved profile and games etc from their 20GB to a 60GB HDD and has any advice.

Ta.

I've done it using the 512MB Card Phil.

The only advice I can give you is that move your profile to the card whilst doing the swap, it'll save you alot of hassle.

Also, you would need to re-download any DLC over 500 MB, which could be a pain or cost you some MS points e.g I had to re-dowload the legends track and car pack as it was too big to transfer.

From what I can gather so far:

I need to plug my new HDD in and recover my gamertag.

I then need to save my games to the memory card and upload it onto my new HDD

I really don't want to lose anything so hope this is right.

Well that seemed a bit too easy so I've definitely done something wrong.

Just re-downloading some of the game add-ons which is going to be time consuming but still at least I won't have to pay for them again (so far).

Sounds like you've sorted it now, but if not let me know and I'll lend you my transfer kit.

cheers buddy, think I'm going to be ok. I've only got a few games I play regularly so the re-downloads won't take long. In hindsight & with a bit of planning the cable would've been much easier.

Any chance I could get a hold of that transfer kit?
I got one off ebay to transfer my 20gb to the 120gb I got with my elite but the software was ste and foreign and the instructions didn't make sense. So I sent it back and got a refund.

Cheers!
