I saw both of these at motor shows and put my name down with Jaguar dealers for ordering if they went into production:

Interesting article. My word Jaguar come up with some donkeys don't they!

I had £250 on an F-Type as well...

As I understand it the XK180 was the concept car, and the F-Type was supposed to be the production car.

In fact Jaguar went through quite a phase of building stunning concept cars and not making them. So we have diesel saloons and something with an arse like a Hummer instead.

To me, the article proves one thing, that Jaguar does not copy Aston Martin designs, quite the opposite in fact.

Indeed. All modern Astons are derived from the styling of the DB7 which was really just new Jag, but Aston needed it more.
