Rev counter on '84 944 is intermitent

Next question. My rev counter is working intermitently on my 84 944 - its really annoying. I took it out to see if the earth was dodgy but have no clue as to which connection is the earth on the back. - anyone seen this problem before??

Rich, didnt get time to dig my way to the back of the garage last night, drop me a mail over the weekend and remind me.... And I will make sure i get to it (will probably need waders / shovel and hardhat to reach it but hey ho.)
