help i'm a noob educate me

evening all, i have fancied getting a road bike for a while but i like to research things before i buy etc , i don't even know what size frame i need ? i'm 6'2 with quite long legs.
i'de rather have a good second hand one rather than a s
te new one. um i can't think of anything else to say really ....
feel free to post up some examples, i could probably justify £300-400 to myself but cheaper the better

quite long legs... oh that'll be a 58cm then... 
tbh you need to give a little more info and even then no one here can tell you the right frame size, you really do need to go to a shop for that.
couple of quick questions to help pick the TYPE of bike you need:
1. How many times a week will you ride (honestly, not aspirations that'll not really happen as you have a life!!
)
2. How far will you ride each time
3. Will you be riding for enjoyment only or taking it to events
4. out with others or on your own? aspiration to join cycling club and ride for example
5. commute? how far? type of roads?
6. ever want to use it off road? nipping to shops for milk and paper, cycling in woods with the kids, etc.,
7. requirement for wicker basket on the front?
