I need a tyre fitter in Southampton area that is not a monkey to fit tyres for me without ruining the alloy rims if possible. Just had 4 new R1R's fitted to my mint alloys and despite spending about 20 minutes going on and on and on about how I didn't want them damaged I returned to find they had totally ignored me and damaged all 4 (£357.20 to fix!!).

I have two more tyres to go on my slightly less minty mint set of alloys. I have heard Supertracker near Woolston are good, and they can do tracking on lowered cars...any other opinions?

If they have done your wheels, you'll need to get them refurbished, and of course your guaranteed to have your tyres fitted correctly as well, Quite a few PH's have had their wheels done here, including me, and they are 100% spot on. http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/File/fareham-d...

CJH Tyres in Havant (not Southmpton I know) great service and always look after my wheels - and price match Micheldever which saves a drive and a hell of a wait yes

Out of interest, what are their charges like?
I see they have a quotation bit on their site, but I'm not interested in getting my wheels done yet; just want an idea on price! smile

CJH charged me £15 for a valve and balance, I thought that was a bit steep.

Try M and P tyres in Hedge End, its halfway along the road along the back of Kentucky/Pizza hut. From the roundabout by Wickes to the roundabout by B&Q.

M and P charge £12 to remove, dispose, fit, valve and balance.

Up to 17" I paid £283.50 that was to leave the car there and them to remove & refit, but if you supply the rims only it will be approx £50 less, but I personally think the full package is good value. That included them polishing the wheels and a bottle of the wheel protector polish

That seems quite reasonable.

They did an ace job on my Ultima rims and as has been said if they are refitting tyres to something they have just lovingly powder coated they should know how to take care of anyone's rims.
