Glue for Tyre?
Discussion
This morning changed the rears on my car, like a numpty on the way home going through a width restriction cut a small bit of the side wall
Not impressed with myself as each tyre was £350. Went back to the tyre shop who said luckily tyre was not damaged, but if I was bothered to super glue the small cut to make it look flush again.
I only had araldite glue which doesn't seem to have made the rubber stick. Any suggestions on how to clean the glue off and which glue I should use?

My Take on this is now you have all ready tried to glue the damaged part it is going to be even worse now to repair , so firstly try your best to remove ALL the glue that did not work .
Then you will have to use a dedicated rubber glue , the problem with trying to repair a side wall is the continuous flexing as the wheel and tyre rotate slowly cracking the repaired joint with a solid fixing type glue , let alone water form the road , then heat mid summer from sun light on the tyre and then frost in the winter .

I used to used their rubber glue for making o-rings for machinery which have contact with solvents and oils .
Or maybe try a flexible panel glue which i use alot for bonding parts together that move and expand with temp etc ,also comes in black too
some thing like this company produces
