If 'the good die young' does it rule out the possibility of a living legend?

...and at what point do the 'good' become bad, ie, what is the die-by date for a goodun?

It's either a glitch, or they lied about her age.

Bruce Lee, Karen Carpenter, Jimi Hendrix, you can see why some people might think the saying holds some truth.

Fortune favours the brave. Yeah, so why are most VC's awarded posthumously?

"you'll thank me when you're older." This is annoying because you hate it at the time, then get older and one day realise it's actually true.

The one I hate is 'no pressure' - because it actually means the opposite.

...or beginning a sentence with, 'Now I don't want you to get angry... but...' will always have the reverse effect.

"The beautiful game"

So vague that it doesn't describe any specific part of the game, hence not actually saying anything.

If the good die young, this is implying that us living are bad.

I just can't decide which half of the suggestion is accurate and which half is discriminatory.

A good phrase that I only heard recently (so I'll probably word it wrong) - "You either die young as a hero or live long enough to become a villain"

One I hate is "To be honest" at the start or end of a comment, that just makes me assume they're lying every time they don't say it

Depends if you consider yourself to still be young biggrin
Although, if you consider yourself good and young presumably this means you can look forward to dying in the next few years. Logic therefore dictates that in order to not die you should spend the foreseeable being as bad as possible - that's my excuse anyway.

Billy Connolly has an excellent routine about those above phrases, I fell off my chair watching it when I first saw it. Think it was late 80's early 90's when he originally did it but it is the funniest thing I have ever seen.

It's from Batman dark knight :

Can't say it's literary genius, but there you go.

As bad as starting a sentence with "I'm not being funny, but..."
