This?

Not sure if you are allowed to specifically advertise in the forum?

yeah thats the one, wasnt trying to advertise in the forum, was just looking for pointers on getting it sold, as I dont think it will appeal top a wide enough audience for things like autotrader, it should be in a ford mag classifieds next month, just wondering what other methods people have used selling their motors.

You'd probably get moat interest on here or autotrader. Wouldn't bother with mags as most people will use the net. You could try on ffoc aswell.

Regarding the ad, list mods, try and give a bit of history about the car an just be honest smile

Ah the days that Supercharging and 'Evilbat' over on FFOC was contemplating doing this.

Awesome car mate, I had a ST170 from new and loved it. Looks as if you have given it the power it needed smile

EVILBAT / Ian did do this with good sucess, that car was passed onto Will and he is turning it into a crazy track car, incorprating powerworks supercharger, nitrous AND a turbo there is a massive thread lots of impressive work going on with that one, its nearly complete.

makes a good read

looks a nice car, i think maybe the rear lights could put people off a bit as they look a bit.... like the sort a 17 year old would put on, but you could list them and include them with the sale, i suppose its a taste thing.

its a shame you havent got the recaros as they would make the car look much more complete.

Yes mate id check out greenlightinsurance.co.uk in the last fours years nobody has come close to them giving quotes, they specialise in modded cars and top of the range models, im 32 with lots of no claims and my premium is £475, my 24 year old nephew has a 340bhp escort cossie is insured with them for just over £650 I think, def give them a go.

if you want anymore info on the car just drop me a mail ricksteruk@hotmail.com

With respect Your price is ridiculous.. People dont want modified cars... You have to accept that such mods will devalue the car NOT add.. Plus the ST is now to be had for under 10k And that has the tourqey 2.5 Turbo motor with 225 as standard................................

cant argue with that the ST is a wicked car, only thing I can add is higer tax, worse fuel consupmtion, higher insurance group, and there are quite a few on the roads, mine is different. I know people dont want modded cars but somebody might want something that isnt off the shelf, and nobody would bother moding cars if they only thought of what happens when its time to sell, cant blame people for trying to sell though. As for price yeah im trying over standard price ive not gone anywhere near what ive put into it, I wouldnt dream of doing that. but I dont think ridiculous is a fair comment, if your right which you could well be, it wont sell then I go to plan b or c etc etc.

i reckon you would be more likely to get £6500 for it.

yeah probably, I did put ono after the price so is negotiable, even if I put it up for £3000 somebody would still offer £2000, but gotta start somewhere

very true, but at some point if you decide you would accept £6500 you should probably put it up for £6995 ono. That way they know you are probably hoping for around £6500. good luck anyway, looks a cracking car.

the powerworks kit is amasing, its from the USA and is used on the Focus SVT(same as the ST170 over here) so is a direct bolt on,

looking on the net the kit included:
"Major items in kit: M62 blower, integral inlet plenum/manifold, BBK 65mm Throttle Body, Green hi-flow conical air filter, integral intercooler, fluid pump, and a HUGE air to air heat exchanger, high flow fuel injectors, new air inlet tube, and all hardware/vacuum line/hoses/electrical harness/etc."

info taken from this site, it has a little write up on it.

The one thing that would put me off that car if looking at the advert is the state of the interior.

Give it a good clean inside and change those pictures because the interior looks a right mess - especially those seats as they have watermarks/stains all over them.

It might seem a small thing but if you treat the rest of the car like those picture make it look like you treat the interior then I would walk away immediately.

i think also the rubber mats are terrible, they just always look dirty.
