Anyone want to waste £6? Order a Haribo Kids Mix Up/ Starmix, current price 10p to be delivered Friday morning and select the "I want a shopping bag" option for bonus stupidity. See if the delivery driver makes a comment.

Let me know the outcome. biggrin

The drivers are used to totally stupid orders, it happens daily. £6 delivery for 12 toilet rolls/bag of sugar/2 bottles of wine/box of condoms, all individually ordered and delivered! Great for the driver who gains a bit of time on their 6-minute window. You can tell so much about a household by the shopping they choose.

No, it's a small bag. It's the idea of getting something really cheap and having it delivered so the price of the item is disproportionate to the delivery cost. In my mind, it's stupid, but I value money. I guess a billionaire who wanted a packet of Haribos wouldn't flinch at the thought of spending £6 to have such a small delivery. smile

Bizarre. I didn't think people actually did that. If it was one item, I'd pop to the local corner shop but for my weekly shopping, they just don't have the variety.

How is that an example of tesco's stupidity? The delivery cost is £5 no matter how much you order, for some people that will be cheaper than a taxi to the local tescos.

Yeah, great. Until they deliver £150 of food which goes out of date in 3 days.

Been there. Been mugged off. Never again.

I agree with Silent1, for some people the delivery charge is cheaper than a taxi/struggling around the shop/ trying to carry shopping on bus/ give housebound people shopping but the people who order these things are usually fully mobile adults who race you to the door when skidding in the drive before you put a missed delivery card through the door or, as in the condom case, a couple of fully grown adults who were too embarassed to buy their contraception at a shop! Also you normally have to wait a few days for a slot so if you run out of bog roll today, you've got to wait til tuesday for some more!

Fair enough! It's stupid for me because I could just pop over in 10 minutes but I've just started trying Tesco Direct and it's still a novelty. I keep thinking "must maximise my spend". I just bought 3 x 2 litres of bleach "just in case". nuts

2 bottles of wine. Best be a party for two or it's gonna be all gone in an hour.

It's the toilet rolls that worry me.

The way fuel prices are rising, it'll be cheaper than driving to the shop frown

The other big advantage is that you don't spend time walking around the shop with the great unwashed.

I was hoping someone would just to know what the driver's reaction would be.
