on your AJP did you fit the larger bosch 044 pump ?, if so what mounting bracket did you use ??? Is the Cerb fuel filter larger than than the standard RV8 one ?

Cheers

roflget your hair cut!

yes I used the cerb fuel pump, runs at 5bar whereas the griff one was 3 bar, its slightly bigger in diameter, so cut off the old bracket supports from the chassis, then folded up some 4mm thick aluminium into a v shape, but with a flat at the bottom of the v, so the pump is held into the v by 2 large jubille clips, with the bracket in turn clipped to the chassis, I`ll see if I can get a photo of it tomorrow if you like.

the filter is similar diameter to the rv8 one, so no problems there, but your fuel lines need banjo type fittings, rather than push fit hose with a jubilee clip.

Nigel, if it helps I run a 044 as well, but standard Chim filter. No issues with fuel pressure thus far...! I think Colin is running a pair of pumps with larger fuel lines and a bigger filter on his one though which is probably closer to your spec right?!

Well been advised to fit the the larger pump, no mention on the size of fuel lines. Ill check this, have you a pic of your pump arrangement ? Was thinking of an aftermarket fuel filter as this was suggested to be swapped for a larger unit, Did you have the change the fuse sizing ?

Hopefully its not going to need twin pumps !!

Just a though, I used to work in the fuel supply industry (and not at a petrol station)and I would look at either the Pierburg 7.21659.70.0 or the 7.21659.72.0 depending on inlet size, very good product great build quality but a lot cheaper.

We sold lots of these into the motorsports market to replace the "044" if you back the pressure down to 5 bar the 7.21659.??.0 you get about 170 to 190 L/ph approx would be more than up to the job and i think it should cost about £80 ish at the most.

here is a link to some info on the pumps.

The Pierburg product is now made by TI Automotive (who you might have never heard of) who also own Walbro they are built to the same design still, used to be made in Neuss in Germany.

I live in Telford.
