It's my first BMW in 15 years. I've had to say goodbye to the XJR and hello ecconomy.

I've picked up a nice 06-56 330d M-sport auto, with 58k miles, 1 owner and three stamps in the book. I looked at four yesterday and boy there are some ex-fleet dogs out there.

What do I need to look for now it's 4 years old?

Not that familiar with the E90's but having owned quite a few E46's in the past these things tend to go wrong on them and not always affected by mileage:

Injectors
Mass Air Flow sensors
Vacumn pipes split - causing poor performance
Wheel Bearings and gearbox's failing - weirdly only ever had these issues with the 330's and non of the others

I think on the 05-56 models they had issues with the steering locks jamming and I think there was a recall to solve this problem but I'm not 100% sure.

Other than those problems (all I can remember right now) it should be ok. Enjoy smile

I'd add rear springs which tend to snap at that sort of age.

Heard of this on the E46 quite regularly, but the E90 as well?
