Hi Guys,
I thought it about time that I introduced myself and made some contributions to the wedge forum, or any other of the TVR forums for that matter.
I've owned a wedge 390se for the last 6 years, but for one reason or another, has not been on the road for the past 4+ years. The car has been stored in a dry garage and is generally in good condition, except for a clonk at the rear an exhaust leak and a few electrical gremlins. With this in mind I have started by removing all the rear end, suspension, diff, exhaust, prop to change out all UJs, suspension bushes and fuel hoses back to the tanks ( fuel tanks have been removed too ) Rear calipers will certainly be going for a refurb aswell. The trouble is the more bits you take off the more you want to renew and the more little problems you find, but thats part of the fun.
Anyway, my wedge is a late 1988 390se, originally registered as F792 EFJ, the some time in the 90s it had the reg of B15 TVR and for th last 10 years or so has been F985 EEY, engine is NCK107 so I assume its one of the later 390's before the 400's started production. If anyone knows the car from previous years please let me know.
Dave.

Hi Dave - welcome on board.

yes things can stagnate when you take too much apart! I try and keep my jobs short and sweet, that way I can get my wedge 'fix' fairly shortly. I find anything more than 3 weeks and it's a bit scary to drive for the first few days....

Thanks for the welcome Adam and Rev.
I've been a lurker in the wedge forum for quite a while, but with mine being off the road I didn't have anything to contribute really. Its still off the road now, but having started the restoration work I feel I can contribute a bit........and pick all your brains.
Great rare cars the 2 of you have.

Welcome. It's definitely easier to overhaul the brakes with the diff out. Whilst you're there, I would suggest renewing the rubber brake hose with a braided one (and the same at the front), and also have a good look at the chassis forward of the diff, as they can be prone to cracking in that area.

Morning Number7 and thanks for the welcome......and the advice.
I will be changing all the brake and fuel hoses throughout the car as a matter of course. The fuel ones at the rear were in a very poor condition, hard perished and cracked in places. Have just received some marine quality fuel hose to replace it with.
Chassis looks to have been shot blasted and powder coated in gloss white at some time prior to me owning it and is still in remarkable condition. The worst part seems to be around the rear end so I have ordered some POR Whitecoat to refurb this area.
The A frames, diff carrier, drive shafts and hubs have all been shot blasted and powder coated in gloss black and look like new again. All new bolts and poly bushes will be fitted, along with new wheel bearings and UJs on drive shafts and prop.
I'll post up some pix as I'm going along with it if anyone is interested.......or if anyone wants any dimensions or pix of anything whilst its apart, let me know also.
Dave.

Cheers Jeff,
Basically the car is good but just a bit tired and starting to show it in places. I now have the time and space to do a proper job on it.

Dave.
