Hi Guys.

Hoping someone can advise here...

I have these alloys coming to me in the next few days. As you can see they are suffering from quite a lot of gravel rash (previously used as rally wheels).

I will be getting them fully refurbished once they arrive. However I have a specific question... Will they be able to salvage the text on the alloy face? All four wheels are similar, and have scratching over the actual recessed text.

Will a good wheel specialist be able to revive the text and smooth the scratching, or will I have to give up on the text and just get the whole alloy face smoothed over?

Any help and/or recommended specialist's would be very much appreciated! :shades:

Wheel Genie at Huntingdon are very good and competitive. As they can engrave wheels also I would assume that they would be able to save yours even if it meant re engraving them at the original text points.
Give Keith a call on 01480 414905 he is always very helpful.

Many thanks for the tip. smile

I am based in the North East though, so ideally looking for somewhere more local. However, I will contact them on Monday morning to see if they can help and travel / post if needed.

Anyone else know any good specialists? smile

They dont travel but there are various couriers who transport wheels for not too much money.

Well, rang one wheel refurber today and they said if the cast text has scratches on then they would not be able to revive the text, and would have to fill the text and smooth the face off completely. frown

Beginning to think these might be a bad idea?

Give Lepsons a call, in gillingham. Absolutely brilliant company. You can arrange to courier the wheels for not-as-much-as-you'd-think, so give them a ring to see if possible!
