Generating money from website adverts...

I am looking to start a business that makes money from purely advertisments on the website. My question is how feasible would it be to generate £250 per day and what kind of adverts (Adwords,Adsense, etc) would I need and how much traffic would I need to drive to the website per day? I know this idea might be a non-starter but any advice would be appreciated.

I'd have thought that a website that generated that amount per day in ad revenue would have enormous hosting and content costs. I really don't think anyone started an extremely popular website with that as an aim, but rather they were content driven and the revenue followed.

The website is essentially going to give a product away each day (xbox/tv/laptop). But the users will not know exactly what time the product will be given away so will need to be on the website waiting and my hope is that during this waiting time they will click/view adverts. This business model is already being used in China but not the UK yet. I just don't know how to generate money from adverts.

Ambitious doesn't even begin to describe it IMO.
