Mums Net & PH.
Discussion
I’m seeing plenty of articles in the media about Mums Net and they seem to at least be able to get politicians to respond to their concerns. Yet I never recall seeing mentions of PH in the wider media and the main political parties have never interacted with us.
So why is Mums net more influential than PH (more members, stronger leadership)?

PH is primarily a site for selling cars with fora as an incidental by product.
This forum has getting on for 10 million posts, so there's an awful lot of traffic going through it, looking at mumsnet they have only a tiny fraction of the posts we do:http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk

You sure about that?Regarding the OP, mums net or net mums make the media due to the swing voters that use that site, the swing voters will win an election.
Does PH have any swing voters?

. There are probably the most sensitive voting group in this country and if you are seen my this group as being anti kids (read future) you're not going to get their vote.PH won't even raise a pixel sized blip on the political radar in comparrison.

I don't think it's about their influence specifically, I think it's more to do with the negative connotations that something like PH has for a great many people - the green lobby, the speed kills brigade, the NIMBYs and so forth. I would doubt any politician would risk aligning themselves with "those car people".

It is owned and run by a commercial company who use PH to make money, not peddle political influence.
Potentially PH could have considerable influence (for a single issue), if it wasn't commercial. Haymarket don't want to be seen as political, so it isn't.

Over exposed IMO, the BBC can't get enough of them in connection with anything and everything to do with the Conservative party. They barely get a mention on their own, or in connection with any other political party.I noticed this several months ago, and it is a real pet hate of mine they way they seem to get onto almost every BBC news bulletin. Just when you thought BBC vox-pops couldn't get any lazier.
One of the reasons may be the level of politically aware members on PH.......................... how long do you think even a heavily moderated Q&A session with winky would last before the usual suspects (myself included) started ripping him to pieces!
Although that doesn’t stop the odd labour lackey popping up in NP&E and trying to put forward some rather flawed reasons why winky, bLiar, mandy & co shouldn’t be dangling from a rope in the Tower of London!................the mentally challenged, diversity consultant (I kid you not) who was posting in December / January, would be a great example of a delusional half wit being metaphorically buried in a debate on here ...................... and as for the racist labour parlimentary candidate that is RagingDud009

I saw the mumsnet founders on BBC breakfast a month or so ago. From what they were saying, I thought it sounded like the female version of PH to be honest. A bitg piss-takey, eclectic, and serious all at the same time. At least, that's how they put it across. I've never bothered to check.
