Key goes in. Turns left and right. Nothing happens. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Adrian

Make sure it's well lubricated with something like lithium grease. Get a tin with a straw and spray it on the key hole.

My Mondeo's bonnet doesn't lift with the key, just hold it to the right and lift the bonnet yourself.

Ive tried spraying through the keyhole and it doesnt seem to help. Ive read elsewhere about the collar between the keyhole and the latch becoming dislodged but all suggestions I have tried have failed.
When I hold the key to the right nothing happens and I cant open it.

Its common for the connection between the lock & catch to fail. All you need to do is get the car up in the air take the bottom panel off the bumper & reach up with a pair of pliers & you can open the bonnet.

Ford do a modified replacement so it doesnt happen again.

very true, but some people dont think about warranty they just think to fix it.
