Flat spotted a spider !

So just looking over the Tiv, as next week looks pretty nice weather, and notice a lovely 2 to 3 cm flat spot in the front spider. Have only used it a couple of times since the cold weather decimated the road surfaces, but I do typically use the Cambs/Suffolk lanes which are bumpy at the best of times. Anyway can't specifically remember hitting a big hole, but it’s there and I'm well pissed ! 
Has anyone had something similar successfully repaired ? And if so by who ?
Or is it a new wheel. Not sure if there is any vibration on the road yet, so will try it out tomorrow.

Have you tried running with tyres on the wheels?

I think these wheels are made from cardboard. I suggest a new wheel as the cost of repair (if possible) is probably going to be 50% of a new wheel's cost, plus you want to know your wheels are strong.
I expect lots of people will now tell you to go and buy some SP12s or another wheel. Its the usual excuse to spend money

I would love a new set of wheels, but those SPD12's just don't really do it for me. Havn't seen anything that looks better than those spiders (even if there not as good as tyres !) Have just fitted some Rota Torque Drifts to my Sag, pics on New Wheels thread, work well with the car IMHO and have the advantage of being lighter and stronger than the spiders. Have kept the spiders for use as winter wheels, easier to keep clean than the Rotas. If you go onto www.rarerims.co.uk they have a virtual fitting section where you can upload a pic of your car and see what the various rota wheels look like on it, helps to get an idea as to what works for you ie multi spoke fewer solid spokes etc, gives food for thought anyway.
