Hi guys, I'm just looking for more info on the 4WD system in the gallardos is it Quattro, Haldex, or something else? Also, what is the power ratio of front and rear axle? 50:50 or 60:40??

I think it is something like 7% front 93% rear. But more put to the front when needed.

Is the 4WD system the same as the one in the R8? If so then a maximum of 30% of torque goes to the front. AFAIK

Also, can anyone tell me if the R-Tronic gearbox in the R8 is the same as the E-Gear in the Gallardo?

I heard that Audi couldn't use the DSG dual clutch system as it cant cope with the high levels of torque so they (modified?) the system from the Gallardo to suit the R8.

Can anyone tell me if this is true?

Thanks in advance.

It is basically the same box, yes. There are probably minor/software differences.

At the time there wasn't an S-Tronic/DSG transmission to suit but that I suppose may now change with Porsche/Audi using them in other high power applications.

Oh no its not! wink .

The Egear box is the same as found in the manual Gallardo but is hydraulic equiped.

The DSG box is a completely different kettle of fish with twin clutches and completely different internals.

Cheers buddy but the question was 'can anyone tell me if the R-Tronic gearbox in the R8 is the same as the E-Gear in the Gallardo?'

Can you shed any light on this please?
