Can anyone shed any light on the following, I'm going round in circles!

When looking at the diagnostics when the engine is running one lambda shows 1.8V constantly.
Is this a common sign it's knackered or would it just read 0.0V?
When reading high does this mean it's seeing a weak or rich mixture?

Cheers

Its knackered. It should alternate between 0 and 1.8 v

I think high voltage is rich but I'm not 100% on that, 95% though.

If you look at the other side of the engine you can work it out usually by watching what the adaptive does in response to the lamda. (reducuing adaptive means taking fuel out).

Assuming it is rich off scale what is adaptive? Are they maxxed at -30%? What is tpot on idle? Do you have a dtpot control at idle ??

If I were you I'd reset. Adaptive maps and watch it trying to learn. If that lamda never moves either it's duff or you are extremely rich on one side - check pligs&leads to make sure you have no missfires.

Even if it is extremely rich, I think the lambda will drop to 0v briefly every second or so.

Why would it drop back down? Surely it would only drop down if the mixture went lean?

I'd reset adaptives and watch it - if it doesn't move no matter what expect dodgy lamda, but when mine went they went toward the 0V side of things, being VERY lazy to climb in voltage, not go down smile

Thanks for input guys

Well, when it was running the adaptive was flicking around -5 to -15 so not maxed out?

I,ve got the lambda out so I rekon a quick test would be to swap it with the other one, I guess this will prove if it's the lambda or that bank running very rich.

swapping seems sensible. It will take around 1 minute for the lambdas to properly start working & adaptives start to move - how long are you giving it?

I'm running it for severval mintues at a time to let the lambdas warm up.

Hopefully will get it done in the next couple of days and will post my findings

New lambda fitted today, wow, what a differance.
now switching as it should, and its made the car very smooth, it must have been getting lazy for while.

Anyhow I'll enjoy for a few weeks and get ready for the next challange!
