Rather than clutter the floor replacement thread I will ask separately how to refill the coolant. I have basically replaced the radiator so let the original coolant leak all over the driveway.

I now need to refill - should I fill with just plain water and then empty again or go straight to the coolant mixture (I have 10 litres of Ford SuperPlus Premium). I have no idea of what was previously in the system - what's the best mix?.

Also whats the best way to fill the system and prevent any airlocks? I was going to fill from both the top of the radiator and also the header tank - any better idea?

Hi dave as regards filling the noble I have just done mine the same way as I always refilled the ultima ... Worked great .

Firstly make sure heater controls are set to hot , drop front end down as low as possible , lift rear as high as possible , mix water and antifreeze 50/50 in a jug then pour in to header tank . Secret is to get the rear of the car as high as possible, this helps get air out of the system . Run up until thermostat opens turn off let cool , top up run up again . Stand over night check levels . Job done :-) hope this helps .
