Gunson - Eezibleed Kit
Just bought one for some service work on the Citroen, as the Haynes book of lies advises pressure bleeding its hydraulics.
Just checked and it also fits the Wedge master cylinder.
Has anyone used one of these on a Wedge? Any good/bad comments?

I've used one on most of my cars, including the Wedge.

I like them, but remember that you're going to have to pump up a tyre afterwards!

I had no issue using it on mine, so I'd say go for it!

Oh, just make sure the cap is quite tight when you screw it on to the master cylinder, or it can spray fluid out when it's pressurised.

Don't use the 'get-you-home spare'! The pressure is too high, just connect it to one of the front tyres, itdoesn't take that much air out!
I've used one on a wedge to do a complete change of fluid, worked fine!

ste. I threw mine away today. They kinda work but if you're going to ponse about with smoke and voodoo making sure the damn thing wont splatter fluid everywhere aswell as overfilling the reservior and guaranteeing a spill when you disconect it all, you might aswell get a mate to pump the pedal.

ORRRRRRR, get a mityvac. Works well, and heaps of other uses on cars with kantankerous vacuum systems. Know any?

I've used one for years on Wedges, but as said above, I find you need to be careful when fitting the new cap to the brake reservoir - either too much or too little pressure and it will leak. I now surround the area with some sheets of newspaper just in case. IIRC no more than 20 psi to be used either.

I tried the the kit and it done my head in. Just got my nephew to pump the pedal while I did the bleeding...

Only bought it because apparently the ABS on the daily hack needs pressure bleeding. Doubt there is an advantage using it on the Wedge but I was curious to hear if anyone had anything good/bad to say about it. Thanks for the comments. It seems due diligence is called for to avoid spraying hydraulic fluid all over my new concrete floor.

They are very handy if nobody is around to pump the pedal for you!

You can use the 'one man bleeding hise' things, which are also good at times and cheap, but a bit more faffing about, plus the hose can kink or pop off quite easily.

bandit.. no fun at all unless you spary fluid around everywhere.

Ensure car is jacked up square and level and they usually work just fine.

As long as you make sure it is done up tight, no problem. I think i bought mine when I bought my VW Karmann Ghia that was the before 1980, I still have both, at least the brake kit still works !
