Anyone got one? Would like to hear their thoughts ... or be pointed to a forum where I can read them?

Cheers.

Not sure many would admit to owning a 5 GT to be fair. Surely you can look at something better?

Haven't driven one, yet, but had a play with the gadgets etc: more impressed than I expected to be, so not as anti as I wanted to be...might be a grower, I guess.

This I know, but then not everyone likes the m coupe either.

Quirky is good in my book.

Wondered how they drove to be honest.

One of my customers has one and he says it is the best all round car he has owned, and he has owned some seriously nice metal. It has replaced his M5 and his X5 as a do it all in one package and he says he is enjoying it more than either.

Thanks Giz, that was the sort've answer I was looking for.

The big GT badge has to go other than that can't see why the looks are so offensive.

I love it mate, it is the one car from BMW that really appeals right now.

The new F10 5 series looks seriously dull in comparison, BMW are becoming like Aiudi with their main lines, just playing it safe to appeal to those that moan a lot, however, those people never buy them anyway, well not till they have been out for 10 years anyway, when it is an old model it is then a classic!! biggrin

I have driven one of the 530d GTs and really liked it. I drove the new 530d Saloon this week and do think the GT drives/rides better - but does have styling issues.

No but I've seen a few - guess if you like the styling........I can't stand it.

I'd have a 5 series ahead of the GT any day of the week and a Touring if space was a real issue.

Might not be a consideration but the Merc R class hasn't faired especially well in the residual value stakes - I can see the 5 GT going the same way - they appear to me to be aimed at a similar type of buyer.

I'm sure they drive well though.

Was looking around a GT today whilst in the BMW showroom and must say that the styling is not that bad apart from that large and ugly GT badge.

The pictures dont do it any favours

I saw a couple when I went to look at the new 5 series saloon, The jury's still out but the wife definatley didn't like it although hopefully it's a 'grower', time will tell.

I have done a fair bit of mileage in the 530d and it drives fantastic.
The interior is the best bit and once you are in there you forget the looks.
Theres a lot of 7 series work underneath so it drives superb guys. It wont sell
on looks but then nor does the X6, or the X1, or the old 5 series, or the 6 series,
....oh hang on theres a pattern emerging here....

+2

I heard about this car ages ago, I thought they would never make it, forgot all about it, then a few months ago I see this Hideous, awkwud looking BMW coming towards me, it passes & I look at it from the side, my immediate thoughts were "what the hell has that guy done to his 7?" then my memory kicks in and I remember this car...I mean vehicle thing.

Google confirmed the worst fear. BMW Manufactured it.

Haha, but different people will like it.

I think it looks great, and no offense but you user name being Cerbera, which I take is after the TVR? Is one car that I just don't understand design wise, it just looks bloated and completely out of proportion from every angle. But I do appreciate it is different and for that I commend them.

Anything new gets like / hate without true evaluation.

As for buying one brand new, no thanks, I perfer to look at my future cars when they are just out so I can watch them tumble in price to an affordable level.
