So a British firm isn't good enough to build our next generation of Tanks apparently an American firm is the preferred contractor meaning more job losses and more of their already excessive public money supporting overseas business.

It's being designed and built in the UK, so I don't see how UK manufacturing will suffer. If you mean that BAe will, then tough. They expect to get contracts by default simply because they are the largest remaining defence company in the UK, with the result that tons of money is thrown at them and they don't feel the need to be competitive.

I'd much rather have a procurement strategy that focused on getting the best kit for the money than one that is a glorified job creation scheme.
