Worst experience of MPG
Discussion
Filled my old Discovery 3.9 V8 up on one occasion & it only managed 140 miles!!!!!
Filled it again & it worked out at 9mpg. Used to avarage 14 mpg. 20 on a run.
Haven't done a calc on my current steed but it also feels like it's using more fuel than the QE2.

17mpg in my Dolomite Sprint average over a week's commuting. I left rubber at ever roundabout.
In the US I got treated to a ride around the block in my boss' 1970 plymouth barracuda with a 440ci engine (6 barrel carb). He did a standing quarter in that and I think used about a gallon...

Red-lining most cars usually provides you with some pretty funny MPG figures. I had an A3 1.8T that i could get to show sub-10mpg on the OBC if i was really booting it. This was a car that averaged 29-30 with mixed driving
Quite a few years back, my dad a new Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 V8 (2000) as a company car (fuel included...phew) that used to average about 8-9 mpg around town. Medium acceleration away from a set of lights would leave you with about 4-5mpg
