rattling gear stick

just annoying really ... seems to make a slight rattle once up and running north of 50 .... any thoughts if i can investigate/fix this myself ... or is it a garage job ?

Gearstick is fixed with just one screw at the outcoming stick of the gearbox. I found mine to loosen.

It's an easy fix.
Remove central console
(one bolt under the vent hole at rearside, remove vent hole first)
(one screw under the ashtray, remove ashtray first)
(untighten central connector)
Remove carpet with gaithers
(first remove handbrake aluminium grip, two allen screws, pull back handbrake gaither first)
(remove gearknob by turning anti-clockwise)
Loosen rubber gaither around gearstick
Check the screw (O/S) that holds the alu gearstick in place . Tighten it.

Remember to connect the vent-hose from the console to the rear vent-hole when mounting the console back.

If the above is not the fix you might have to take out the gearstick coming out the gearbox (four bolts). Couldbe the joint has too much play.
