Falken 452

Anyone have any experience of these? Price seems very reasonable and a quick search in google only reveals good things. But on a TVR with 18" Spiders. Im looking at 225 / 35 / 18 from camskill.

Just orderd some new wheels for my Cerb from a outfit in Oldham Manchester one of the biggest supplers of alloys in the northwest and he recomends them says they are very good tyre. I was going for Toyo or Bridgestone but he said why pay more when these are as good. Not got wheels yet but i am taking the chance with them let you know in 3 weeks if there any good

I have the same size on the griff, very good so far, a lot of people on here have been very happy with them.

I put a set of these on a BMW 330D and, after worn Pirelli PS2s, I was very pleased with them. However, my Cerb came with them and they were horrid - I suspect that they are fine new but go hard quickly.

Probably OK if you wear them out quickly!

That was a perfect summation of the Falkens. I used some on mine for a while and they stated off great, but after a while, and few heat cycles, they turned hard as nails, loads of tread left but no traction!

Same experience with me. Put on all corners of my little BMW E46, but living in London I didn't use it much and it stood in garage a lot. Developed circumferential cracks on the inner wall of 3 tyres after only a few months. Was advised to replace all of them. They're cheap for a reason!!!

Interesting, put them on mine last year and was pretty happy with them. Did trip and track day to Spa, Brighton Speed Trials and general driving about - all good and very happy with them. Car has sat over the (very cold) winter and did a track day at Rockingham and wasn't overly happy with the car as it wasn't giving me any confidence - especially after driving a friends Sag on 888's which felt glued in comparison - put it down to Rockingham being a bit damp in the morning but tbh it was dry by the afternoon and car still didn't feel great. Hadn't really thought of it being the tyres due to having been happy with them previously - maybe they have just gone st. Back to Toyos then I think.

Have them on mine, had no problems with them at all. In fact just ordered a new set. Only use them for normal road use though as I have the R888's for the track.

same here, i left mine for a while and they went very hard - brilliant at first though... now on Asyms Eagle F1's - superb

The Falken's are a good(ish) tyre, the tyre fitter was right, he's probably fitted them on loads of Hot hatches, but how many Cerbera's? To do justice to a Cerb you really should go for a good tyre. So shop around for ones like Toyo Proxies and Goodyear F1's.

The German car magazine "Auto Motor Sport" tested the Falkens and stated a "limited recommendation". Personally I would suggest Hankook EVO S1 as they almost equal as Pirelli P Zero and Continental SportContact3 under dry conditions but much cheaper.

R888's ? Are they as good on the road as on track and what is the estimated lifespan compared to the Proxes T 1 rs ? Due a rear change soon and wondered if they live up to their reputation. Ta

Had FK52's on my Cerb when it ran an 11.9 1/4, so no probs there. They went on to do 12k miles with no problems and no issues with "hardness". Also ran these on my 335d with no issues whatsoever (35k miles!!). Quite a few Cerb owners run these tyres and have done for the past few years with no problems until the "hardness" issue that is now being talked about. I found the Toyo's that I used to run on my Cerb to be a "hard" compound that for everyday use was no good. They were ok with a bit of heat in them so it made them fine on empty roads etc.

I think they are excellent tyres, regardless of cost. In fact I like them so much all 3 of my cars are shod with nearly new FK 452s, including my Fiat 20VT track car.

Like Cyclone said, my Cerb had 452s on when I ran a 12.1 last year, so their dry grip is pretty damn good.
