Hi Guys,

I was wondering if you could help? I'm about to move from run flats on my Z4 to Falken Standards and have been looking into tyre welds and compressors to carry with me in the event that I get a puncture. At the moment I've only really seen the Holts branded weld and was wondering if that's any good or have any of you guys already have something that is good which you would reccomend, or will they all do pretty much the same job?

Cheers,

Not much help, but Costco sell twin packs of Tyre Weld for just over a tenner...

Have a look at some of these for reference...

I use the ContiComfortKit. Never had cause to use it as a puncture repair yet but it works great as a standalone compressor when needs be. Very handy bit of kit.

The problem with a lot of post-puncture sealants is that they are just pressurised to inject the sealant into the wheel and not inflate the tyre. NOt much cop if you're stranded in the sticks.
Also, some of them are quite small so they have reccomendations as to how big the tyre will be for one can. Anyone running decent sized wheels/tyres will need two cans in some instances.

Need to consider what size tyre you are running. There is conflicting information out there:

From the Halfords website
300ml - 12 & 13'' tyres
400ml - 14 & 15'' tyres
500ml - 16'' tyres

From the Holts website
Tyre width up to 155mm use 300ml
Tyre width over 155mm use 400ml
4x4 and larger tyres use 500ml

I also carry a 12v compressor, a digital pressure reader and some gloves!
